"Good ole Denny's, where poets dream and mothers scream at crying babies.... We dont have a Weird Al, but we do have a butch lesbian chef who was more than willing, after the enticement of our flamer friend Dave, to whip us up some free food on the third shift. In a town as boring as Altus (the closest mall is an hour away!!) Denny's is the only way for me to keep my sanity. The staff is friendly to the regular third shift customers and decent to the rest of the people in there. "i just thought i ought to tell you i liked your project. it inspired me. have you ever happened to stop by the denny's in edmond, oklahoma? its become a haven for bored punks with baggy jeans and spiked hair who havent showered in a week... or it was our haven, until the manager got a little perturbed that we scared away all his "elderly customers." then they slammed a thirty minute rule on us:
if you get water you can stay for five minutes
if you get coffee or a coke you can stay for thirty
this rule is still affected on you alone even if youre with someone else (personal experience in that matter) and isnt it funny that they only use this rule on kids? i just thought id gripe about this to you because i knew... or thought you might care. isnt life sad?" - written prior to September, 1999

June 5, 2000 - "Just wanted to tell you the Denny's in McAlester, OK sucks tremendously! Don't ever go there unless you have several hours to wait for a seat, service and the food! Besides if you are as lucky as we are you can even watch the waitresses walkout on the job! We've seen it twice before!! Ha Ha - Who wants to own a Denny's? Not us!"

"Travelers: You should know that this Denny's serves a hamburger that, I swear, is made of two pieces of corrugated cardboard, topped with 1/2" pieces of 50 cent size tomato, with three - get this - three pieces of lettuce saturated in monosodium-g since morning, in buns that are not only one day old, but are toasted to boot! I tore the left side of my mouth trying to bite into the "thing" and my false teeth quaked when I got a dime-sized piece in between my lips to chew on. It was witnessed by Robert, John, and Gil, American Leagion convention buddies. What I want to know is, what type of anti-acid pill would you like sent for in your ditty bags? "I'm just a Dennyszen, much like yourself. The sad thing is, I'm only 17 and have been hanging out at the Denny's on 405 N. Mustang Rd. in Oklahoma City for the past 3 years. Of course I have visited each and every one within 45 miles of Oklahoma City, but I have also visited the one in Tulsa. Hell, I even got to sit in the Atrium, once. Lat year I even wrote a children's book called "Ryno the Dennyszen" about me and how I was sort of accepted into the bleak future known as Denny'shoodness. May 9, 2003 - "This is an open letter to anyone that wants to know what happens with a late night order that is screwed up by those awesome people at Denny's. You come home with your bag of food - that's a start. Then disappointment. I'll not take time to discuss my troubles in detail as they are unimportant - it's granted by the store (May and 63rd in OKC, OK) that they goofed. Thing is - nobody can fix it. No adults on duty. Take your money to Whataburger or ANYWHERE but Denny's, if you expect to get what you pay for. My experience was like this: Get home with overpriced food. Realize it's not all there and the french fries with a burger are stone cold. (I'm 5 blocks away so fries are not fresh). Call for a fix - get an obnoxious and unapologetic "Cynthia" on the phone who makes no effort to fix the problem, refuses to give the Corporate HQ 800 number. That call has Cynthia actually question if the botched food order is really "that bad" (no not the cold food, the food that isn't there!). When assured that there is no interest in eating what they dispensed, her question is repeated ... and again, again. Watch out for Cythia's delicate consitution - she get's testy when you point out that you don't wish to pay for a faulty deal ...the fact is, it was her (it was, in this case) fault - makes no diff. Cynthia (or her counterpart, I assume), then get's upset and hangs up because emotions are so fragile ... don't be rude to the thieves that take your money and cry they can't do it any better or make it right. I suggest if you make the mistake of buying Denny's over-priced crap, that you bring a lawyer - it seems there are no adults on campus. When I asked to bring back their garbage for CC credit, I'm told I must devote part of my upcoming morning to that - they are a store full of zombies, there is nobody in charge. I had to call a franchise location to get the 800 number for HQ. DO NOT SPEND A DIME AT DENNY'S Thanks for your attention."

"Denny's. My home, for years and years and years. This Denny's has a loyal following of hard core Dennites, some who have been there for years. The regulars are a tight little bunch, and, having wooed the waitstaff into submission years ago, get almost decent service. The food still bites, but the coffee is cheap and flows quickly. Some of the best Denny's moments involved Ken's pig seizures, 'fixing' cigarettes by putting straightened out paper clips through them (you should try it, it's fun!), lighting random things on fire, drinking enough coffee to make it cost a penny a cup (coffee was $0.87 then.) and other odd and socially inacceptable things. This Denny's has the largest following of any in Tulsa, and is a must-see if you pass through. The pay phone number is (918) 252-7197 and -7198. And, yes, we really do get phone calls here. :)" - written prior to September, 1999

"I've had many denny's experiences. First off, let me explain to you that since the fall of 1996, i've made trips to denny's almost an every weekend thing. We always go to the one at I-44 and Yale (It's the best one) I'll try to break these down to the major denny's experiences in chronolgical order
Summer of 1997. I usually sat in non-smoking. We just hung out and ate food basically, and harrassed our favorite waitress Vickie. "I am of a minority descent, asian to be specific. Ê I had to wait in line for 30 mins, and had other caucasion customers gest served before me, I thought that it was all in the past, about discrimination, but apparently I was mistaken.and it took forever for us to get served, they smiled and talked to the other "true customers" and ignored us. Ê I had just turned on the television and saw your advertisement, about your restaurant, and I saw a little cute african american child looking like he was having the time of his life, and It made me sick to the stomach, what are you trying to prove, that you are treating all races the same, in this advertisement, I think not. Ê I am not going to get a lawyer, and try and sue you, for discrimination, but I do expect a response from a person with high authority, from Denny's. Ê I had not gone to Denny's for a long time, because I always felt I was not welcomed, but I gave it another try, because my son's like the food. "The place that has gravitational pool on all us Tulsa, Oklahoma freaks is the Denny's at 51st and Yale.Ê To many ofÊ us, this is our second home; most of the waitstaff is friendly, but is really understaff, so it comes to the Darwin therory of Survival of the Fittes, i.e do not wait, just grab a chair for yourself. The most busiest is Thursdays, after the club closes, we usually take 3/4 of smoking. Some of the food is good, the coffee is okay (i drink it by a tank full,) but the problem here is the usual "The Wait". January 31, 2002 - "HI! MY NAME IS DONNA AND I AM THE GENERAL MANAGER AT THE DENNY'S ON 68TH AND MEMORIAL IN TULSA OKLAHOMA. I LOVE MY DENNY'S! IT IS THE BEST DENNY'S IN TULSA. MY STAFF IS GREAT AND OUR CUSTOMERS ARE TERRIFIC. WE HAVE THE VERY BEST COOKS WITH THE LONGEST AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE IN TULSA AREA. ONE COOK IS 16 YEARS IN THIS STORE AND ONE SERVER IS 23 YEARS IN THIS STORE. I HAVE NUMEROUS SERVERS AT 5+ YEARS. COME AND TRY US SOMETIME. IT WILL BE YOUR BEST ONE YET!!!"

"Denny's is a home for me, I have literaly been to denny's every day (less 7) in the past three months, I hope to do better in the next 3. i also plan to visit every dennys in oklahoma, it's a thing for my web page "Denny's, Oklahoma Directory." Anyways, Yukon Oklahoma, actually, the resturaunt is located in oklahoma city limits but everyone says Yukon. this is a great dennys, complete with slow service and griping waitresses. there's a group of us here, we call ourselves the dennyzens. 405 N Mustang Rd. just off I40. if you're ever around there, stop by and I will be there, unless the big lightbulb in the sky is out." - written prior to September, 1999

Wrote a few years back, I'm up on the page, as well..Just wanted to say that MBZoso is no longer a true Dennyszen..He has a day job, a girlfriend, and he never shows up anymore...::weep, weep::..Myself, I'm now 20, and I am there everynight..Sure there's college, and stuff, but all homework needs a coffee stain from a Denny's mug..Even if it isn't the original Denny's blend anymore."

June 29, 2001 - "I like RynoDBones and Matt am a Dennyszen at the Yukon, Oklahoma Denny's. When I left home for the Army in the summer of 97 that was my hangout. It was a staging area for everyone to get together, and decide what to do, but we usually just stayed at Denny's. Imagine my suprise when I come home now in 2001, and all my buddies are still there. Denny's isn't a restauraunt for us, it's a way of life. I usually show up every night around 9:30 to see everyone, and of course don't get my coffee until about 15 minutes later, although recently I've been getting it a little faster. Maybe thats because I'm dating the waitress....."
