Japan
- "Now Denny's restaurants in Japan are not related with U.S. Denny's. Denny's Japan Company was established 1973 by Ito Yokado, one of Japan's biggest supermarket company, under the license agreement with U.S. Denny's. However, in 1984, the Denny's Japan Company bought all rights of Denny's in Japan incl. Denny's trademark license registered in Japanese patent office.
Now Denny's in Japan serve more Japanese dishes than western meals., such as Japanese style Hamburg steaks (Soy-sauce flavored), and Kinoko Zousui(Rice in a Japanese soup with mushroom). Please note." - written prior to September, 1999

- May 29, 2000 - "Dear Sir, How are you? I hope that you are doing fine. My home town has three Denny's in Chiba prefecture , Japan. I usually drop in the nearest Denny's from my house. I sometimesÊneed refresh. I drive and go to theÊfarest Denny's. It takes aboutÊ15 minutes by car at night. As I informedÊyou before, it was long time. Maybe you forgot it. I likeÊto sit in Denny's and like to spend my time to relax myself while I am watching people talking, eating and enjoying there.ÊÊÊIÊam also fond of going to video rental shop. IÊlike to see suspense movies and thriller movies like Alfred Hitchcok.ÊÊI found Denny's near video rental shop and visited there for the first time. It was nice to be here. I had nice dinner time. Please keep good work and good relax. I reallyÊwould like to visit USAÊagain and visitÊDenny's in USA again. My last visit wasÊ1997 for business travelling in Detroit. I hope that I will visit USAÊwhatever for business or private."

- "On a recent business trip to Japan our customer (Hitachi) was taking us out to lunch. I'm a vegetarian, so the question was where we could go where I wouldn't starve (there's surprisingly little vegetarian food to be had in Japan -- everything has fish in it). Denny's was floated by our hosts as a possibility, and since there's one just down the street from them, we headed over. It turns out that there's not much in the way of vegetarian stuff on the menu (like Denny's in the US), but I had the Basil and Tomato Spaghetti without the bacon (I'm glad I found it was there by asking -- it wasn't visible in the photo and wasn't in the description). I also had the Tofu Salad, which was excellent, actually! It's basically just a cube of cold tofu with a little vegetation sprinkled over it, but the dressing they use complements it perfectly! A non-meat-eating buddy of mine who lives in Okazaki said the same thing without me prompting him. No Weird Al here, BTW -- our waiter was the Japanese flavor of geek. Another note is that the restaurant was amazingly popular. Even though we went to lunch after 1:00 PM we had to stand around for about 10 minutes before we were seated. Nonetheless the service was courteous and pretty prompt." - written prior to September, 1999

Tokyo, Japan
- "Denny's is extremely successful in Japan - right up there with the Hard Rock Cafe, Spago and Dunkin' Donuts. My experience is with the Denny's in Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki. For those who stay in the hi-rent district of Tokyo (Ginza, Shinjuku, etc.), why are you going to Denny's ? But if you must, take the Yamanote line to Shinagawa, transfer to the Nobu line south to Kawasaki. At Kawasaki, go over the tracks to track 6 (Toku line ?) - ride the south line until you've passed the big NEC sign - next station is Nakahara. Turn left for the station's west exit, south (left) at the Fujitsu office and follow the tracks south (about a 10 minute walk) past the BMW dealership and behold - you're at Denny's. There are only two recognizable things at this Dennys (well, aside from the traditional decor and corporate logo-ism). First, on the menu is a Grand Slam-like breakfast. Second, the manager is an excellent St. Yankovich visage - slim nose, wire glasses, buggy eyes. No mustache or wiry hair but very close (oriental features not withstanding). Part of the success is matching the local palate. Highly recommend the curried beef for lunch but have no idea of what you'd do for supper
. Watch out, the Slam-like breakfast is on the order of 15 US$ without orange juice. But, compared to 25 bucks for toast in the Ginza, it's still a deal. This is, after all, Denny's." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I'm Steve Veltema and I work in Ome City, Tokyo Japan. When I first came over here my employers took me to --- you guessed it Denny's. It's on Okutama Kaido in Higashi (East) Ome, Ome-City, Tokyo prefecture, Japan. Most people don't realize that there are hundreds of Dennys in Japan. In fact, most Japanese don't realize that there are probably thousands in the US. Anyways, it's a normal Denny's catering to the Japanese pallet (Japanized western foods) along with the Denny's standards. When I get tired of fish I sometimes head back there." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Hi, I like your Denny's page. I used to be (lightly) obsessed with Denny's as well but that passion seems to have waned. At any rate, I thought you would be interested to know that when I was in Tokyo a couple of years ago, I went to the Denny's there and I saw Rob Halford of Judas Priest fame (you know, 'breakin the law, breakin the law') there. Except Judas Priest had broken up and he was with some new band (I think it was called "Fight). I was with two nerds from Apple who didn't even recognize him. Everyone at his table was eating the "American Club Sandwich" (the menu is different there, you can get soba noodle soups, sushi, all kinds of stuff. They even give you a warm wet towel like you get at sushi restaurants)." - written prior to September, 1999

Uriasu, Japan
- January 19, 2000 - "I often ate at the Denny'd In Uriasu Japan near Tokyo Disneyland. French fries are counted and present in only odd numbers, as even numbers are considered unlucky. During America fest they offered the oh so American dish..breakfast sausage and fries..? I kept a small menu."

Yokohama, Japan
- October 26, 2001 - "?Hello!! I'm a university student in Japan.Next year I have been informally promised employment at a Denny's Japan. Now, I read your web-site. I was surprised that a interior decoration is deffer from Japan. Our Denny's are Japanized. On balance,I like yours rather than ours. Well, I'm looking forward to working next spring."
