Burlington, Vermont

" I was very pleased to see that someone else has an interest on Denny's. I live in Burlington Vermont, where one of these fine establishments makes it's home. I go there at least once a weekend, usually between the hours of 9:30 PM and 6:00 AM, where our usual waiter - Curtis, serves us our spicy fries, chocolate shakes, and chicken-ranch melts.
This was all wonderful up until two weeks ago, when our waiter and friend for 3 and a half years moved away :^(
He has moved down to Tennessee, where he plans on working at another Denny's (all of you in Tennessee are truly blessed). We mourn the loss of our favorite waiter every time we visit now, by leaving a flower at the managers desk when we go up to pay.
If you see Curtis - you'll know him by his long brown hair- his amazing car, and his wonderful charm, please say hi to him for us, and tell him the place isn't the same without him.
As for the picture I've attached to this email - One night at about 3:30 AM, my friend Chad and I (I'm on the right of the picture) were sitting in Denny's when something caught my attention.
Turning around quickly we saw What appeared to be Elvis, walking out of the bathroom. Unable to help ourselves, we needed to get a picture to prove to the world that Denny's draws the finest people. Luckily we had a camera in the car, and snapped this picture with the king himself - Elvis Presley. He looked very healthy and happy - probably because of his diet of Denny's food. April 23, 2001 - "i visited "Denny's" at S. Burlington,Vt on Rt 7 at I-189 intersection,. on 4/23/01 It was WORST i have seen. Arrived at 12 noon, i counted 8 tables not cleared off. I ordered Roast Beef/horseradish Sandwich.... UGH. had a chunk of fat / gristle/?? that was 1/2 of sandwich filling. Funny part was that on 4/22/01 night before i had eaten across the street at a "tgi Friday" and that was great. Service only average. I won't go back there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

"Dear Mr. P7a77, As I am sure is true of evreyone who comes to your site, excepting those that are complaining the fries are too spicy, I am glad to see someone else likes the place. Good luck in your quest. I noticed that only the Burlington Denny's had a spot, and as a frequent visitor of the Rutland branch, I thought I would take a moment to immortalize it. I am a senior at Mill River Union High School, and Denny's is the place we go to enjoy the wonderful teen years, in all their tears of joy and sadness. We got there when people die, when they are born, when we win, and when we lose. We meet there, and we are known there. Other high schools stay away, knowing that Denny's is our turf. They head for Friendly's, but we know it wouldn't be the same. Our Denny's offers something special too. The bar out back that it is affiliated with, offering live entertainment and line-dancing. I only wish Elvis would visit. Keep up the fight, and come see us sometime. We'll be there, most likely still covered in dirt, or sweat, or make-up..." - written prior to September, 1999
