Auburn, Maine
- "Sometime ago our Denny's hosted a bizarre incident... at least I think it was a Denny's at the time, it is now at any rate. The spoon is across the street from the police station and a poor sap with mental illness couldn't get the attention he was seeking from the constabulary, so he walked kiddie corner to the chez denis where he started making (albeit unarmed) hostage taking noises. The police were summoned. They knew the guy obviously, but they ended shooting him in the back and if memory serves dispatched him into the great beyond. (without the benefit of the kitchen) This of course led to some community discourse which lead in the usual two directions: a march in solidarity for the officer and the selling of a new T-shirt with a welcome to Auburn, have a nice day message on a shirt with a smily face with a bullet hole between the eyes. I have eaten in better spoons, but rarely as expensively." - written prior to September, 1999

Augusta, Maine
- "Hi, Mr. P! My name is Aaron Damboise and I am writng to tell you about the new Dennys Classic Diner that just opened recently in Augusta, Maine. It is located just off of exit 31B on I-95. It is totally awesome beacuse it the restaurant is designed like the diners of the 1940s and 1950s that dotted all the major routes in this country. Perhaps what really makes our Dennys so special is that whenever "Y. M. C. A." blasts out of the Wurlitzer jukebox, the waitresses who are not serving customers get up and start dancing. I wish Dennys had an email address because I would write them and tell how much I enjoy the food and the service at our local Dennys. I understand that another Denny's Classic Diner is also up and running in Bangor, Maine. I have not had the opportunity to visit this Dennys, so I hope that someone from that area who has visited that location will write to comment on it!" - written prior to September, 1999

Brunswick, Maine
- "Anyway, I just wanted you to know that my local Denny's, just off route 1 in Brunswick, Maine, at Cook's Corner (you can ask any local how to find it) has incredible milkshakes and the GREATEST WAITRESS EVER. (You don't believe me, but she is; she really is.) Her name is Gudrun and she is from Germany. She gave my friend Sean free lemonade and she told us she hates "those little yah-yah dogs."" - written prior to September, 1999

Portland, Maine
- "in collage in Portland Maine, the only late night retreat was Denny's. One needed only to yell "green coffee" and a slew of wild eyed nocturns piled into a car like clowns to make the pilgremage for their favorite Slam. Norther Slam, Southern Slam, Grand Slam. When asking the friendly, however emence, night manager what his favorite dish was, he replied "the Western Hemosphear Slam." i think i laugh so hard at that, a french fry came out my nose. at any rate, please consider changing the color of the coffee in the coffee cup icon to a gray-green for accuracy's sake. (you know, because of the green lights over the table). Do this, and people wil come." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I love your Denny's web page! I am from maine, and I got a kick out of the reviews. There are actually two Denny's in little Portland, ME. There is one on Congress Street which gets bobmarded everytime a baseball game or concert gets out, and one up on Brighton Avenue. In the summer between my freshman and sophomore year of college, I worked the swing shift at the Brighton Ave Denny's. It was.....an experience.... especially the night that every WWF wrestler walked in and ordered 2 or 3 meals a piece. It seems to be an easy Denny's to lift from, as one of my friends has a complete set of Denny's Ware and the Plese Wait to be Seated sign among other things. OH, and there is a manager there (I cant for the life of me remember his name right now) who does look a little like Wierd Al.....with a bowl cut....." - written prior to September, 1999

- October 19, 2002 - "Problem late that night I became ill with stomach cramps and diarrhea causing me to remain in my Hotel Room an extra day and am just recovering from the effects of what I believe was the meal at that Denny's A pharmacist @ Walmart somewhere in NY State suggested '"EQUATE" an anti diarrheal liquid which cured the diarrhea and now I am almost back to normal and functioning normally in all respects. with mild stomach discomfort. I am not going to sue nor do I intend to ask for compensation. This is to advise you of a possible problem at that location"
