Bowling Green, Kentucky
- "I go to college at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Many places aren't open after midnight down here, so Denny's is always a great place to go. Where else can you drink some coffee, smoke some cigars, and eat "Moons Over My Hammy"? If you're really lucky, you'll be there during the shift of "Guy the Gay Waiter" who actually kind of resembles Weird Al without glasses and 15 years older." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Hello, My name is Kristy and I am a waitress at Denny's in Danville, Kentucky. I noticed you haven't visited our store, and I would like you to try and stop in sometime, preferrably on a weekend third shift. That is when I work. I have been working there going on 3 months and I am fed up with the way that things are being ran there. I am a damn good waitress, having worked for Frisch's Big Boy for 2 years, then the Cracker Barrel for a year and worked with varios high class catering services. I recently moved to Danville and unfortunately didn't have much to choose from besides Denny's. I am the kind of waitress that most people dream of getting when they go anywhere. I am prompt, friendly, and if you are nice to me, I sometimes give you free stuff. When I started, the majority of my custormers started off by saying things like, "I don't want to have to wait an hour for my drink like I did the last time", or "I hope you don't suck as bad as the last girl we had." Those kind of customers end of tipping $5, $10, and even $20 on a $15 bill. I average about $20 an hour every night that I work, while the other girl is lucky to make it out of there with $20 for the night. The other Friday night I had an altercation with management. This old lady that claims to be manager spent the entire night sitting in the dining room chit-chatting with her son and other Denny's cronies that were there. We got busy a couple of times and I was unable to get to the register, so instead of this lady noticing that the register was 5 customers deep, I had to ask her to get up and take care of it for me. And here is the kicker, she was sitting directly across from the register!!! So anyway, after being slammed for 6 hours, I finally got caught up enough to sit down for a smoke that I desperately needed. I sat down at the same table with this manager, and do you want to know what she said to me? "Waitresses aren't allowed to sit in the dining room." Boy was I pissed. I retorted, "Well, you have been sitting here all night long and I am the one that has been actually working." Well, she flew off the handle and screamed at me in the dining room about how she is my boss and she can do what she wants. To beat all, she had been sitting with the cook and the dish washer when she told me this. I guess at Denny's waitresses get no respect from management. Consequently, I was written up for "back talk" and my hours were cut from 40 hours to 3 hours. 3 freaking hours! Too bad the other 2 third shift waitresses quit that night and she were forced to work with the next 4 nights in a row. Too bad for the customers that our Denny's doesn't recognize a good waitress when they get one. Come in and see me..." - written prior to September, 1999

Lexington, Kentucky
- "Ok, I'm sure you get a ton of mail about which Denny's is the best and whatnot, but While in Lexington, I'm surprised that you did not visit the best Denny's in the region. My friends and I visit there constantly, of course, like most Denny's it has a great third shift crew. Just so you know it is the Denny's on Nicholasville Rd. If you go, get Bill. he seems like a hard-ass, but if you are just as bitchy to him, it all works out in the end. Also, next time you are in Kentucky, visit the one in Danville. Most of the booths are filled with the employees, there relatives or their multiple sex partners. If you go there try and get Tonya. She rules and rarely charges you for everything. That's all I have to say. Thanks for bringing the joy of Denny's to the world. On behalf of me, my friends and my grandchildren, I am eternally grateful to you and may your family and descendants have long healthy life devoid of Denny's heartburn." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I have scouted out a Denny's location for you. It was Denny's 6401, on the NewTown Pike in Lexington, Kentucky. We were flown down for a press conference at Lexmark printers, and there was a Denny's right beside the hotel. Even though we were getting breakfast at the event, I woke up early just so I could snap off a few pics and eat breakfast (2 eggs, bacon and english muffin) and have coffee. I didn't get any free stuff except oodles of southern hospitality." - written prior to September, 1999

Paducah, Kentucky
- "We just got back from a Denny's... enough said. Your site made our night. We were, however, distraught to find our hometown Denny's has been missed from your quest across the Heartland. There's a classic Denny's located in Paducah, KY off I-24 halfway between St. Louis and Nashville. Though I regret to inform you that there is not a "Weird-Al" look-a-like at this restaurant, it is populated by a unique cast of Dennylords. Come to visit and you'll find working there a stunt double for Captain Janeway (in 20 years), one referred to simply as "Bucky Melanoma," Diane (Words cannot describe), and many, many more! The night crew is a blast! (The ones mentioned above) We're not sure if there is a day crew since none of us have ever been inside during the day. - written prior to September, 1999

- November 29, 2000 - "I live outside Paducah,Ky. Never had been to a Denny's until we moved here. The first time my husband and I went into the rest. was during the day and all was fine. A couple of months later he and I go into the rest. after work (being nighttime). Everything was horrible! There were two young waitresses, one in the corner booth, fighting with her boyfriend, crying and pleading. The other was at the counter talking with a group of friends. We patiently waited, until someone noticed us. Not that the manager would, she was too busy in her old little world smoking cigs and drinking coffee as the customers looked for service. After sometime, the one waitress ends up in the parking lot still fighting with the boyfriend, the other's light bulb goes on, and she realizes that there are many people sitting with no coffee, food, etc. The thing that ticked me off was behind us was a couple in which the man, had been terribly crippled as he worked his self up to the counter to ask for a cup of coffee. It was pitiful! The second time, the cook was so upset that the basic bull was again happening, he ended up coming from behind the cook station, taking our order and then end up serving it! Tonight the same. 45 minutes to get our food, the waitress has no clue as to what the hell is going on, the food orders are all messed up, can't get a cup of coffee, the orders are not being put in, etc. I have looked over this site. Obvisiouly, something is wrong with this rest. chain. Why can't something be done! What kind of appt's do they take, what are the quailifcations for getting a job? This makes a total mockery of the rest. itself. A total joke! Granted, we have been there during the day, none of this takes place. Something should be done!!!!! There is a Drury Inn next door....what the hell is happening ? If the restaurant cannot be ran properly it should be closed down!"

Richmond, Kentucky
- June 14, 2002 - "I am sad to say that the dennys in richmond, kentucky closed its doors about a year ago and now a liquor store is in its old building. Apparently their lease on the building ran out and left them without a home in richmond. The dennys in berea, kentucky continues to go strong although i always liked the richmond one the best (i lived within walking distance of it)."
