Boise, Idaho
- "Several years ago I ventured to Denny's to enjoy a hearty, wholesome breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and, of course, lemonade. We were seated after the requisite 30-45 minute wait and soon enough our waitress appeared. She was a true doppelganger of Flo from Mel's Diner - bouffy hairdo and all. We order. She exits. She returns, bearing drinks. I can see (from across the entire restaurant, mind you) that the glass which holds my lemonade is marked with a very large brown spot. It must be my imagination, I lie to myself. No restaurant which passes a health inspection could tolerate such a blemish. Wrong. I discover with the aid of a straw that the brown stain is chocolate syrup which has been fused to the inside of the glass. How Flo missed this, I don't know. Something inside me says that she was fully aware of the stain; nonetheless, I haven't ordered a lemonade at Denny's ever since." - written prior to September, 1999

- "This is by far one of the DIRTIEST Denny's I've ever been in. I used to slum it there all the time after a hard night on the town. The turnover rate is inane and you can expect to see new staff every week or so. Some of the cooks are good, some suck and can ruin even a Grilled Cheese. Same with the wait staff. It's very unpredictable there. Oh, I was a waiter there for 7 months a year or so back. One of the worst experiences of my life. I love dealing with drunk bastards and getting stuck with half the floor on a Saturday night bar rush. Blah. Go ahead and take a chance if you want to...." - written prior to September, 1999

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
- "Coeur d' Alene Idaho has what has got to be the best Denny's I have ever been to. There is no real nonsmoking section and the walls get dingier the higher up they are from all of the cigarette smoke. The carpet and entire interior for that matter is all left over from the 70's and is simply remarkable. The french fries and blue cheese dressing (a must for lat night dining) are unparalleled in the free world. The coffe is "good" and the service not all that bad. With the exception of the manager who because of his curly hair has been deemed afro-fuck. But more interesting than the restaurant is how we found the king of all restaurants.
My friend and I went to the local Hasting's store aroun 10:00 one night to read magazine and maybe rent a movie. While we were in Hastings we noticed several goths looking at the discount book section. Anyone who lives in or has been to Coeur d' Alene Idaho, lovely resort town that it may be knows that diversity of lifestyle is more than hard to come by. This is the reason the goths so profoundly grabbed our attention. One of the them in particular stood out. He was average in hight with very short hair and long bleached bangs, he wore a black shirt stripped black and white stockings and pointy shoes. An amazing piece of individuality and great fashion sense. After we had read our share and were leaving we again noticed the goth, we refered to him as pointy-shoe-guy, outside smoking. We ran one more errand, to Rosauers for soda I think and then on a whim decided to go to Denny's for coffe since every other store was closed. At Denny's we again saw Pointy-shoe-guy by himself now drawing and writing in anotebook. Insane! We had never seen himin our humble town before and all of a sudden three times in one night!
After that first night we were hooked and went back again several times, and Every time Pointy-shoe-guy was there, always wearing his killer buckled pointy shoes. Then one night he was gone. Pointy-shoe-guy never appeared in town (to our knowledge) again. Very odd we thought. There must be some way to explain why he was everywhere we were going before us that one night, and then at Denny's everyother night we went for the next week. AFter a lot of soul searching we concluded that he was our guardian angel. He had come from where ever to lead us to the holyist of restaurants, and had stayed just long enough to make sure we understood and would return again. Ian, my friend thoought that since he was a goth all the white fromthe recent snowfall scared him off. But he never returned so that theory was quickly dismissed. So that's the story of how we were guided to our future haunt by a spirit with pointy shoes, and since that fatefull night we have come to be regulars and to learn the ways of our Denny's. Idaho Falls, Idaho
- "The Denny's in Idaho Falls is right off I-15, and very convienent if you are driving through. When I was there, it was about eight in the morning, and was very quiet. I was happy to see that the USA Today machine outside was stocked, and I was able to read the paper while I enjoyed my meal. Even though I was alone, I was still given a booth, and not a small table for two in the back corner. The large table gave me room to relax, in comfort, and enjoy the day's news. The service was prompt, and friendly. My food arrived quickly, and was delicious. If only all Denny's were as good as this one." - written prior to September, 1999

- November 9, 2003 - "Idaho has a lot of the Mormon influence, so I would always get a few stares when I came in with long hair and ordered copious amounts of coffee. However, the staff here is great and the food is as it should be. I was here when Denny's first came out with it's own cappuccino. "

Pocatello, Idaho
- "If you are ever passing through Pocatello, ID, DO NOT stop at Denny's. You will be so disappointed with the service there it will make you sick. I can not help but wonder if the Denny's Franchise owners ever conduct inspections to make sure the restaurants are with in the Franchise guidelines. The Pocatello Denny's is unlike any I have ever been to before. It was not just a one time problem either. I have been to this Denny's at least 10 times and It is always the same. They can be slow as heck and it will still take them a half hour to take your order. Worse yet, after they take your order they forget that you ordered any food. I guess they think you are just sitting there because you love the dirty dingy atmosphere of the place. In the middle of the night it will take them over 45 minutes to get me my food. It is not because they are under staffed. I always see at least two waitresses in there at least one cook and three or four others. They all just stand around with there thumbs up there butts. One time I ordered crispy bacon. The waitress brought it out and it was soft and rubbery. I asked her if she could redo the bacon so it is crispy and she told me that it was the best they could do. I think the Denny's Franchise Top Management needs to be changed. They obviously do not give a dam about the restaurant chain. " - written prior to September, 1999
