Atlanta, Georgia
- "Have you made it to Atlanta on your official tour yet? Well, hope your experience is better than ours. I sing in a local Atlanta Band, ONE WITHOUT, and there is usually a Denny's around somewhere close to the venues we play. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's less than good. Usually we are the only one's in the Denny's on Monroe in Atlanta at 4 a.m. but that doesn't seem to increase "good service" standards. The last thing I'm intrested in at 4am. when there is no one else there is cold food that is suppose to be served HOT. Oh, well. The Denny's on Cobb Parkway in Marietta is worse. Last time I was in that one (6 months ago and I'll never go back) the manager was apparently running a "day care" center at the same time and there was one particular youngster of his that was running around in the lobby with a dirty diaper. The odor was horrible and made the food less than appealing. And then there was the rediculous stunt that Denny's pulled in Atlanta during the Olympics. Not only did their prices go "way up", but they stopped serving tossed salad and baked potatoes. What kind of sense does that make? That really ticked me off for a long while. But at least I have stories to tell. Hope all is well with your nationwide tour." - written prior to September, 1999

- "We visited the Dennys on Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Altanta, Georgia. We felt the the staff was a little busy dealing with all of the different cultures during the Olympics. The breakfast was classic American Denny's fare. And yes, we thought we have seen a gentleman resembling Weird Al. Unlike the the rest of Atlanta, This Denny's was old looking, showing it's age. - May 22, 2000 - "I stopped at a Denny's when I was in Atlanta this January. I don't remember the exact address, but it was just south of the airport off of the interstate, sharing a parking lot with a Day's Inn. It appeared to be a relatively new Denny's Diner, plus it had some kind of ersatz pub attached to it. Since I was at Denny's early in the morning, there wasn't a chance to brave the chain-pub to find out just what was going on there. Our waitress was kind of nonchalant, it took her forever to bring out menus, drinks, etc. Aside from the fact that the service was slow (there were very few people in the place), this Denny's was pretty good (as well as very clean)."

- February 16, 2000 - "They just opened up here and already heard nightmares about customer service. We waited 45 minutes for a bacon barbeque burger, it came but with no bacon and no barbeque. Had to send it back, another 40 minutes later, nothing happened so we left. Another occasion, husband's work sent for phoned in large order, brought it back to work, three orders missing. Not good! All other experiences across the country with Denny's have been real good, and I miss the great customer service we knew and loved!"

- "The family went on vacation to Disney this Christmas. On the way, we happened to stop at a Denny's. I remembered your page so I figured I'd give you a preview of that Denny's.
It's in Brunswick, Georgia #6321 attached to the Comfort Inn where we were staying. Nothing special over there until you get out of the car and smell the putrid shrimp smell that is everywhere. Turns out there is a shrimp and crab processing plant in the town.
Anyway, my parents request the no-smoking section. They put us right up front next to the register where we can enjoy greeting everyone that comes in. Oh joy!
Our waiter was a nice southern gentleman named John. He was wearing this loud purply Hawaiian shirt. I realized all the waiters were wearing it also!
The meal was good. I had some form of chicken. Can't remember the exact name.
The last thing I noticed before I left was that the plaque I got the store number from was an award! "Accident-free" for 1996. There was also another one for Best Hotel Conversion! I knew this was definitely a "special" Denny's." - written prior to September, 1999

- "This unit is in the Comfort Inn located at the junction of I-95 and Rt. 341. Brunswick is a "company town"..historically the home of the Liberty Ships built in WWII. The manager of the restaurant is Linda Harsh and she cooks up a mean Gran Slam Breakfast...late night at Denny's brings in the teen agers and the folks returning from the gambling boat the Emerald Princess. Just down the street is a great golf course..Oak Grove...Brunswick is famous for the lumber business and is the home of the Federal Law Emforcement Training Center. This location is a great stop on the way south to Disney or Daytona and on the way North to NY or points way north." - written prior to September, 1999

- November 26, 2003 - "Had been a fan of Denny's for years although I have become disgusted with the dirty floors, indifferent waitresses, and unclean restrooms for the past several (10) years. Today was my last visit to Denny's anywhere. I took my adult son and teenage daughter to Denny's on Victory Drive near Fort Benning for a late breakfast. Being a nonsmoker for the past 20 years, I resented having to navigate thru the smoking section, which appeared to be about 90% of the restaurant. Even when seated in the nonsmoking section, the smell was still pervasive and stale. I have always like their menu so that is why I decided to try Denny's once again after approximately 8 years. Last time was in Denny's near Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia. That was a pleasant experience since that was a new or renovated Denny's, clean, courteous wait staff, etc. Today was a marked contrast. We were seated after standing for 5-6 minutes near the door trying to catch the attention of the hostess. Finally she walked us thru the smoking section to the small seating area for nonsmokers in an area that obviously had been added after the initial construction. This was a patio-type area that was enclosed now but not part of the main dining area. About 2/3 of the tables had customers. In our area were small families with small children and a few couples at other tables. The waiter ambled over after another 7-8 minutes and handed us menus. He did not take our drink orders at this time. The longer we sat there the more I noticed the other customers who appeared irritated at the lack of attention and length of wait for food orders. Two small children at separate tables began to cry and ask for food as their parents tried to calm them. One child actually threw a fit and had to be threatened by a parent and taken outside for disciplining. In any event, I began to notice the appearance of the wait staff and nearly all wore dirty, stained shirts or blouses and many were unkempt looking. We finally got our drink orders after about 15 minutes. No refills during the remainder of our time there however. The overall appearance of the room was dirty with numerous littered tables that had not been cleaned yet. My table was sticky, too. The bottom line is that we waited for over 30 minutes as others around us became irritated as well at their lack of service. I finally got up placed a few dollars on the table to cover the drinks and informed the waiter to cancel our order because we were tired of waiting. My waiter was a young man in his early to mid twenties, but unfortunately I did not ask for his name. I will never return to this establishment and will encourage others to refrain from doing so as well. Being a glutton for punishment I told my children that we would try the Denny's on Macon Road where things had to be better. They were, somewhat. This restaurant was newer, cleaner and in a better location. I informed the waitress of our bad experience at the other location but added that we liked the food at Denny's so came here. They were not busy as it was about 10:30 AM at this time. She said it would only take about 0-15 minutes for our order and apologized for the other location saying that it was not a good Denny's and was well know for staffing problems. Unfortunately, it took 22 minutes for our order to arrive after the drinks (my son timed it) although it was not a busy time. Food was so so, not hot, barely warm. My daughter watched it sit on the counter for over 5 minutes before our waitress picked it up and brought it to us. I might add that the waitress was nowhere to be seen for over 15 minutes and finally returned from outside the entrance when she noticed the food sitting there. Smoke break or on a personal errand? The one bright spot was that our waitress, although inefficient, was courteous. Good-bye Denny's. That was your last chance."

- November 30, 1999 - "I work in a brand-new just-opened Dennys Classic Diner in Commerce, Georgia. We opened for business on November 8, 1999. I am a Waitress/Hostess/Cook and would LOVE to see you review our store. I don't know if you have been to one of the Classic Diners yet, but it is a really neat store. Lots of chrome, dancing waitresses and cooks - It's loads of fun working there!"

Jekyll Island, Georgia
- " Just across the Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick, is a barrier Island.. Jekyll Island. Denny's Restaurant is in the Comfort Inn Island Suites.. Jekyll is a great beach location with 63 holes of championship golf. Beach Music Festival and Historic Village are world famous...great place to stay for Getaway ...Comfort Inn has rooms with in-room whirlpools....call Denny's for Room Service and dine in the all together...if that is your style. Cindy Dwyer is GM...she is a fine Southern Girl and serves up some great local shrimp. Brunwick is the Shrimping capital of the world so the shrimp and crabs there are really fresh. A fifteen minute drive of I-95...East to Jekyll Island...it's worth the trip." - written prior to September, 1999

Macon, Georgia
- "A favorite hangout for drunks of all socio-economic age groups, the only rival is the infamous, dare I say it, Waffle House. Anyway, a group of us decided that we would document a night in the life of 5 high school males with absolutely no regard for the law or the bible belt, and videotaped an entire evening of mischief. The evening culminated in a two hour long twilight taping session at Denny's of everything from the greeting process to the bussing process and even included Macon's finest doing their civic duty by supporting the local economy instead of busting underage drinkers. The net result was a FREE dinner which would have otherwise had us washing dishes since our tab was about 60 bucks, which is not easy to do at a Denny's. Everyone from the Manager's to the cooks got into it and is truly an unparalleled adventure in wonderland. " - written prior to September, 1999

Marietta, Georgia
- "I am a fan of several Denny's sandwiches, so when my local Denny's(Where I lost a NJROTC pin to an overly friendly server) on Cobb Parkway, Atlanta GA, stopped serving all of them I naturally switched to the Delk Road, Marietta GA location. On one particular visit with my then girlfriend, and two male companions(platonic), our waitress was particularly unattentive. Upon complaint to the managment, we recieved a free meal as a compensation. When we left the store, we were followed by our waitress, and the cook(who incidentally looked like an overweight Al Yankovic), who both accused us of stiffing them and yelled alot making a scene in front of the store. We calmly left after one of my more violent companions withdrew from the possible physical confrontation with the "hefty" Al. Upon further contact with the store, it was determined that the manager had gone for the evening, and had left the store in the incapable hands of our demented waitress. The true manager however, gave us all free meal coupons, and fired the offending waitress. The job status of her accomplice, "hefty" Al, is not currently known." - written prior to September, 1999

Richmond Hill, Georgia
- October 8, 2000 - "It's the one on 17...or right off of the 95 exit. This was by far THE worst Denny's of my life. We went there at like 10pm. One waitress. The Coke's were thicker than my shake. I took two bites of my Moons over My Hammy and couldn't eat it anymore. Two of my bottomless pit friends could not finish their meat lovers skillet and burgers. The french fries even sucked and that's rare. Even if in desperate need, do NOT eat here!"

Savannah, Georgia
- "I am a Denny's lover myself. I visited a Denny's just outside of Savannah, Ga. last year and during our visit to Savannah my wife and me ate there every morning. I mean you cannot beat the Grand Slam breakfast. I recommend you visit this one it is right off the interstate as you start on the highway going into Savannah from the North. Get the carafe of orange juice it is tops. Keep up the good work, I look forward to hearing about your future adventures." - written prior to September, 1999

Smyrna, Georgia
- "I've just visited a great denny's! It was in Smyrna,GA. The franchise #6336. Melissa V. was out waitress. The manager's special that day was 10% off w/ a grocery reciept.(which we used) The sign outside had the old logo. The toy grabber machine thingy inside had the new one. I had the chicken strip value lunch and tea. My mom had a patty melt and a salad with tea. My grandmother had a Philly Steak sandwich with vegetable beef soup. I asked the manager for something free and I got a bunch of stickers. It was overall a good experience. The only thing wrong is that none of the workers looked like weird al." - written prior to September, 1999

Valdosta, Georgia
- " I don't know if this has anything to do with your connection to Denny's, but recently I was on vacation and we stopped at a Denny's for breakfast. I always liked your bacon and cheese omelet, but after my experience, I will never eat another egg again. When we arrived at the Denny's in Valdosta, Georgia we were seated and asked what we wanted to drink. I said that I wanted a chocolate milk and our waiter replied, "No, you don't want the milk it's spoiled!" I should have known then that the food would be bad as well. When my breakfast came it looked fine until I moved my egg and there was like a cup of grease on my plate. My mother's food came cold, her eggs were barely cooked and she sent them back. Needless to say the next day I woke up to puking my guts out all day and having diarrhea the whole day. For the rest of the week I was sick and I missed two days of school not to mention our whole trip was ruined on a count that you can't keep your restaurants stocked with fresh ingredients. I lost six pounds in four days thanks to these wonderful eggs. If I were you I would do a better job in your restaurant, and frankly I don't see how you even passed the inspection test! I will never eat in a Denny's again for as long as I live. I'd rather die if hunger then eat there, and just so you know I made it know secret to let my whole school know that I received food poisoning from your restaurant and many people were disgusted. Just thought I'd fill you in on this little tid-bit of information. " - written prior to September, 1999
