Casa Grande, Arizona
- October 18, 2000 - "I have picked cotton by hand on the land that Dennys sits on in Casa Grande,Az. I also ran harvesters and cropdusted that land. That knoledge and a couple of bucks might get you a cup of coffee there. I told that story to a watress there in about 1985, she was not impressed."

- "the food was excellent and the waitress sold me acid and the cook gave me free mozerrella sticks the only down side to this place is after 2 am on weekends it gets full of drunk hicks i have been in more than one fight with on many different occasions the good news is that the management knows that drunk hicks are shitkickers and will not kick you out they will call police and have the hicks removed. all i can say is many thanks to the chef Lorenzo and that waitress Mary......" - written prior to September, 1999

- "...on the main drag next to the railroad tracks...I was there at dawn three days running, watching the sun come up over the mountains... breathtaking...an inexpensive motel just down the street (to the right about a block, owned by very nice people from India...very nice!)" - written prior to September, 1999

- "My wife and I found the Denny's just as you enter Flagstaff from I-17 or exit from I-40 on the US 180 exit into flagstaff a good place to go and have good, cheap food while we studied late at night. Recently, they stopped offering many things at night, raised thier prices and hired a lot of rude waiter/waitresses. We were so disgusted, that we left and haven't been back since. I would suggest you give that particular denny's a wide berth. We now go to Perkins down the street, but if it's Denny's you want, try the one mentioned previously on this page on old rt. 66 or the one off of butler (take the butler exit on I-40). They were ok last I checked." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Just about a week ago, we were driving by the denny's just off the end of I-17 and realized (after seeing the fire trucks in the parking lot) that it was on fire. No word yet on it's fate." - written prior to September, 1999

Green Valley, Arizona
- "It's right on the edge of town. Green Valley is a retirement community 30 miles south of Tucson. The Denny's is only a few years old, and the residents were glad to finally get one. The clientele is elderly, of course and subdued, probably not a big late night, after bar crowd there." - written prior to September, 1999

Holbrooke, Arizona
- "I was very disappointed by the service and food at the Denny's in Holbrooke Arizona. My scrambled eggs were cold and mushy, obviously the work of an amateur. The waitress was so incompetent that I told my boyfriend to cut her some slack because this was surely her first night. Then I overheard the guys at the next table ask her how long she'd been working there and it was three years! I am rarely a cheap tipper but we wound up leaving her a dollar. I stayed away from eggs for the rest of our trip and stuck to cereal based foods." - written prior to September, 1999

- " So, there I was in Denny's trying to win my girlfriend a stuffed frog out of a vender. The kitchen was being closed down so we decided to leave. We were next to the door when A huge drunken man and his dysfunctional family decided to come in for a bite. He got pissed off by the kitchen being closed so he took out all his manly agression on me. He punched me five times and tried to throw me through a window. He saw the cops and got the hell out of there. I kept on thinking the words of the great Gorge Carlin" It's a good thing God didn't make me a good fighter, because there would be a lot of dead mother fuckers out there. Mesa, Arizona
- "Living in Southern Arizona and you've never hit a Denny's anywhere in Mesa? You're missing out big time. There all over. The one near our house is on Dobson and Main. You get a beautiful view of Target's parking lot or the corner light. Actually, if you sit there long enough, you'll probably get to witness a fender bender on the corner. Every idiot in the East Valley goes through that intersection. We've seen a number. The wait staff are usually tired and rude and rarely get the orders right. You can usually count on a family with noisy children to sit near by. Actually, if you go at night it's kind of pleasant, and the waitresses are usually nicer because it's not so busy.
By the way, I read that you went to the one in Tempe on Baseline and I-10 and don't remember much about it. We were there last year on Christmas Day night. It's a newer Denny's and it has a HUGE parking lot. They have a waiter there that likes to work holidays. He's an absolute riot and has a gift for making everyone happy. He even gets the order right, no matter how busy he is. People were waiting an hour to get seated there that night. Oh yea, and he sings! It was so funny.
Anyway, next time you come north give Mesa a look-see. Scotsdale is for rich, snobby people, Tempe is for the transient college crowd and Phoenix is just too big to be anything in particular. Mesa is much nicer and has an old-fashioned, small town appeal (even though it's the third largest city in Arizona)." - written prior to September, 1999

- June 12 2001 - "I live a block away from the one on Alma School and Baseline and have had seven different friends work here all on Graveyard shifts. This one rules! I've worked here to help friends out when the need someone to wash dishes and everyone's always nice. The manager even knew some friends and I were getting plastered in her parking lot once, and she just said to stop and then gave me deoderant to cover up the smell of the beer I spilt in my Car. How Cool!"

- "I live in Phx, AZ and we have one of the really great Denny's here in town on 7th St. and Camelback Road. Of course, the proof is in the proverbial pudding, and you can tell the hallmark of a really good Denny's is by a) how many weirdo's and pseudo-weirdos show up after the clubs close. (a LOT do here!) b) how bad the make-up is on the waitresses, and how pathetic their hair is. Also whether or not the smoke at the wait station. For some reason, that's cool. I can't figure out why I expect it there, but would cry in outrage at a "real" restaurant.
When I'm there, I always order "Moons Over My Hammy" just because it's so much fun to say. For the same reason, whenever I'm in LA I like to go to a small diner chain called "Ben Franks" and order "French Toast Princess Anne." Just because it's so damn silly. However, IHOPs "Rooty Tooty Fresh and Frooty" campaign stinks because it's too self-aware and ridiculous. Boo, Hiss." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Well, me and my friends have been meeting at the Denny's at 33rd ave and Grand for 2 yeears now, Every Wensday. The management always likes to train new people on us, and we've been most sympathetic. There's a local (huge) cowboy nightclub nearby, so the smoking section is always packed with rednecks. We sit in the non-smoking section, and those of us who smoke take a special trip outside to do it. We've seen it all- from waitresses who snub us to waitresses who are so cool they invite us to parties. Right now, the coolest waitress (whose 17 year old cousin from out of state worked with her briefly) is now at the Denny's a mile up the road. Now, if you ever come to Phoenix, and have to stop at only 1 Denny's, I'd suggest (in all seriousness) going to what EVERYONE out here refers to as the 'Gay Denny's'. It's at 7th street and Camelback and located near 2 or 3 gay bars. The night staff is fast and friendly, BUT last time we went there (a year ago?) one of the bus boys, who looked a lot like Alan Dershowitz with a club foot, followed my friend into the bathroom and stood watching him pee. Nothing else, just watching him. Around this same time (a week before or after), I was biking past this same Denny's when I got a flat. I was able to get a meal AND patch my tire, which I'd brought in with me. Amazing." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I've lived in Phoenix most of my life and back when Denny's let people eat for free on their birthdays, my brother and I (we were born on the same day, three years apart) would eat at as many Denny's we could. Our record was five free meals in the day. The only one I can remember of those was the one on the SW corner of Peoria and 43rd Ave. Also, the story about the "gay" Denny's at 7th St. and Camelback mentioned by another person on your page is true. My brother was hit on when he ate there a few years ago." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Hello there! Thursday is cheese soup day. Today is Thursday. I experienced cheese soup for the first time today. it was a rather enlightening experience; I may now hold my head high and boast, "I, The Denny's Goddess
, have eaten cheese soup at Denny's!" and beam.
Of course, eating it at the Gay Denny's (Phoenix - 7th St. and Camelback) was NOT an enlightening experience; seeing the "Italian Stallion" gay waiter wearing tight pants and a tight, leopardskin print shirt made that cheese soup want to return.
The Gay Denny's rocks! Not that I'm gay or anything; it's no fun when other chicks hit on you. But watching the other waiters touch each other and giggle girlishly and talk on the phone to their boyfriends is great. They're so cute! Although one waiter, Tony, likes to push or smack me whenever I go in there. If I press charges, will this be the end of Denny's?!" - written prior to September, 1999

- "Okay, yes, it is true everyone here knows about Gay Dennyz on 7th st and camelback. And yes, there are alot of homosexual's there. And yes, its a hell of a lot of fun. BUT, *the* best dennyz there is 43rd ave and peoria. I've probably spend most of my life in that dennyz. We do not attend "often" we attend EVERY day. We know every employee by first name and home life and have been there longer than most of them. We corresponce with a payphone (known as the "Pimp" phone) (602)504-6920 for whoever wants to call dennyz. There are two phones, but the one next to it duznt take incoming calls. :) I havent paid for a drink since 1993. All of us at one time have served, rolled silverwear, bussed, etc at one point or another. We have the "Christiian Section" (non-smoking), the smoking section, and "Dennyz" which is the pit (in the smoking section of course). If you go to phoenix, go to this dennyz. Call first. Ask for someone in the pit. You'll be set." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Hi! My name is Sharon Richardson and I live in Phoenix, AZ. I was in theatre at Greenway High School all 4 years of high school, and our ongoing tradition was to go to Denny's after every Friday night performance. The whole cast and crew is invited, and as you can imagine, we've had groups of rather large amounts. Not to mention that it's a group of high school Theatre students! Needless to say, we had trouble finding a Denny's that would put up with us. Well, during Guys and Dolls my sophomore year we found the ultimate post- performance Denny's--83rd ave and Bell. They cleared out a whole room for us, and towards the end of the night the cook even came out and sat on the back of the booth with a group of us while playing the guitar and singing along with us! Since then, that Denny's has become the official Friday night Denny's for Greenway Theatre!" - written prior to September, 1999

- "I am writing on a friend's computer to conceal my true identity. I am fearful of revealing my identity because I think that you missed the BEST of all of the Denny's in Phoenix. It lies on the Northwest corner of 7th street and Camelback. After midnight on a Friday, but especially on a Saturday night this Denny's is transformed into visual eye candy. I mean other than in a drag club you have never seen so many beautiful men...er...women. It also happens to be a highly friendly place, well, at least the customers are. You really should go and visit, there's a WAY there too! In short, that Denny's is the center of alternative lifestyles in Phoenix!" - written prior to September, 1999

- "Yo Yo Yo. I have to agree with Shawn/Flagg about the Dennyz on 43rd avenue and Peoria in Phoenix, Az. Man this place is the best.. We have about 20-25 people that come to that dennyz every single night. We kick it down as da "Dennyz Krew". People on your feedback aren't die hard dennyz man. We are. You don't know anything or have seen anything till you have seen us. It is our soap opera man. We get incomming calls on the BUSINESS lines. Know all the servers. Hell we even watch the servers kids at times. They always offer us jobs. You don't know what it is to hang out at Dennyz till you seen this one." - written prior to September, 1999

- "My husband and I have traveled across the country several times and have found the very WORST Denny's in the world for service. It is on Grand Ave in Peoria (Phoenix) AZ. I have been searching for the address to the corporate headquarters and have yet to locate them. We waited at least 30 minutes to have our order taken, 35 minutes for the food to arrive and never an offer of more coffee. When the food arrived the order was completely wrong (that after she walked around in a circle through the restaurant looking to find where the food went.) I told her it was the wrong order, she walked away, came back within 10 seconds, sat the food down, said "here, take this and I will have someone come take a new order." Never again!! If anyone can provide the address to their corporate headquarters I would appreciate it." - written prior to September, 1999

- October 6, 2001 - "I managed to stumble across your site and must congratulate you on its quality... I have a collection of pictures from dennys of quite another variety, that you may wish to include in your collection... I've attached one such photo to this email, and it is because of this picture that I'm no longer allowed in the dennys at 83rd ave and bell rd in phoenix. I also noticed that you have photos from a number of Cincinnati Ohio dennys... that is my ex-hometown... how crazy.. ne way.. feel free to stick this picture on your site if you give credit to www.chainsawbeer.com which is my site. visit the discussion forums sometime, even if it is just to whore your site out hhheheh... they'll be back in a few days, they're down for maintenance right now. Just lemme know if you'd be interested in more of my dennys shots"

- January 12, 2001 - "Truly, a late night mecca for Yavapai College students. The food was allways about average (Read Barely Edible), the decor; swanky early 70's (I love burnt orange vinyl boothes!!) but the service - Oh the service!!! Many Yavapai students would gather at Denny's to do after class studying and socializing, and if you were taking any night classes it surely meant that Ruthie would be waiting on you. All you YCC folks remember her, right? In fact she is probably still there. You can't blame her for being a little, well, crankie. Large groups of nearly broke college students ordering eight cups of coffee and one appetizer for an entire table does not a waitress's dream make. Then sitting there for a couple of hours drinking multiple carrafs of coffee, goofing around while trying to study, and just generaly being college students, it's no wonder she always seemed exasperated. So, from one former YCC student I must say THANKS RUTHIE!! I made it through college, and now have a good IT job. I got here - partly - from all those nights studing and drinking all those cups of coffee that you poured. I think quite a few YCC folks feel the same way, I still can't eat any more of those buffalo wings though."

- "I spent most of my high school years at the Denny's in Scottsdale, Az at the corner of Scottsdale and Shea. Since Chaparral High School (my alma mater) is down the street the place is usually swarming with the usual misunderstood high school crowd, spread out with the occasional group of jock kids who usually sit in the non-smoking area. The place is packed on the weekends from morning till the bars close, but the service is usually pleasant and they always remember your drink refills. Another bonus, unlike some Denny's this one does not charge for sides of ranch dressing for your french fries which is nice. The only downside would have to be the girls bathroom, which is usually dirty with toilet paper all over the floors, just make sure to check your shoes before coming out of there. Check it out, it's worth the teen angst for the almost always fast service." - written prior to September, 1999

- "This Denny's is in the Scottsdale Pavillions just of Pima Road. When I visited, it was about eleven o'clock in the morning. The visit started off on a bad note, when the USA today box was empty. Actually, a drunk guy took the last paper just before I entered. When we got inside, the same drunk guy was sitting in the booth next to us. He wasn't the best reader, and was reading some things out loud. At first I thought this was to taunt me, but later realized that this was not an action he could engage in. To get to the meal, the service was mediocre and the ambience was not up to snuff. Overall, this was far from being on my list of top five Denny's restaurants." - written prior to September, 1999

- "My friends and I love Denny's. We have ever since it was the official hangout for our theater club in high school. Anyway, I just wanted to mention something about Denny's #6476 in Scottsdale, Arizona on 7605 E. McDowell Rd. You mentioned how it looked like it used to be another restaurant, but the wait-person claimed that it had been a Denny's for at least 17 years. I know for a fact that this is false. I am currently 20 years old, and I moved to this area when I was five, and that building was a couple of places first. The one I remember best was a place called "Randy's" that served homestyle meals, like Chicken Fried Steak and such, to go. It was pretty good, and so is the Denny's, so it all works out. Anyway, good luck at finding more WAY's and getting more free stuff." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I am not suprised that you received third rate service from this particular denny's.Ê You must have visited back in the day of the "Crack Lady" manager.Ê My brother used to buy rock off of her.Ê But now it's a different Denny's, they have remodeled it and gotten rid of the ugly yellow-brown sun shades and put in even uglier green-white cloth!Ê Like most of the people who know this place even exists, i spent most of my high school days in this place being that Chapatraz High was just down the street.Ê I have had many the adventure in this place late on friday nights because Rio sports bar was just across the street (the denny's of bars) and a few of my friends would have some drinks and head to Denny's after last call.Ê That's why I now call this the "Bar Rush" denny's but that's a different story alltogether.Ê So one day, a few friends and I were a little tipsy and sat way in the back.Ê Now, one of the guys, Riley was his name, got quite plastered and since we knew all the waitresses in there, got free stuff including a handfull of those little toothpics with the cellophane on the end.Ê If you insert these toothpics into straws and blow really hard, they keep a pretty straight line, usually towards the ceiling.Ê I think we got about 200-300 toothpics in the 1X1 roof tile.Ê Then, Riley, being the drunken fool he was that night, took the tile down and stuffed it into his bag.Ê To this day, he still has that tile as a memoir of his days back at denny's.Ê Now another fun thing about this Denny's is that it's between about 5 bars in the area.Ê We have Rio sports bar across the way, Buzz fun bar across from that, just north we have Bobby McGee's and Handlebar J and northeast, we have Ernies.Ê It's such a riot watching these drunken fools stumble around this place.Ê And to this day, i still get wasted on the weekends and when the clock hits 4:00am, somebody always seems to say "Hey! Denny's!" and then we all pile into the 2 door saturn which has a 5 speed and i was the only one sober yet drunk enough to drive it which is pretty sad because i have only driven stick once before this night.Ê We made it, my Brother puked in the sink and we left.Ê And that's the story of the Stickshift Automatic." - written prior to September, 1999

- June 4, 2000 - "My name is Phil and have lived in Phoenix all my life. Just recently my friends wanted to eat at Denny's on 650 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale Arizona. Five of us waited about 20 minutes for a waiter who had trouble bringing water. After taking our order the wait was about another 20 minutes. We finally decided to leave. I briefly talked to the manager to register my complaint who offered a rather weak apology. There is no excuse for wasting people's time like this ! I too am looking for the corporate address, phone number, e-mail to tell them that Denny's famous reputation of not serving minorities lives on ! I'm not playing a race card, but can anyone explain to me how all customers around us were eating and being served and we weren't. Denny's certainly couldn't."

- August 15, 2002 - "I love your site! This is a fun topic that almost everyone has some kind of input on. You had mentioned that the Scottsdale, AZ location #6476 at Miller and McDowell looked like it had been something else. Another viewer wrote that it had been a restaurant called "Randy's" but it was actually "Grandy's." We used to eat there back in my high school days (yes, about 17 years ago), and they did have great chicken fried steak. I don't remember when it became Denny's. I now have sentimental ties to the Denny's located there. My husband and I had our first non-official date there seven years ago. We just stared at each other and talked for three hours, it was wonderful. I think I had the cheese sticks, but I'm not sure, I could have been eating mud for all I knew. Denny's set the perfect mood for 'get to know each other conversation.' Though, I was concerned that the bright lighting was washing me out. Anyway, the food there was always pretty good and the service was o.k. I haven't been there in a couple of years, I'm now closer to the Denny's on Scottsdale Rd. and Osborn."

- "Seems to be a lot of turnover in the waitstaff here so service is unpredictable - it has ranged from atrocious (bad enough that we decided (after a LONG wait) to leave if we hadn't been served in 5 minutes (I think they beat the clock by 30 seconds or so)) to very good indeed. But the view out of the larger dining room is very nice indeed. One of my favorite breakfasts ever was here one day when there was snow moving in and out which made the view change every couple of minutes. But usually at breakfast time this room isnt open and they shove customers in a rather claustophobic room with a view of the parking lot and (closed) Walgreens. " - written prior to September, 1999

- October 30, 2000 - "For a week me and 5 of my friends stayed at my friend's house in Sedona. Every morning, we went to Denny's, it was very early like 5 or 6. Anyway, there was one "waiter" who was in plain clothes and was all drugged up or something, he sat the 6 of us down and then asked us if we had any pot, then fell asleep in one of the boothes. So we messed with him the whole time, and thre a bunch of our toast under table. When we were ready to leave we asked for the check and just told us it was $6.66! Over the week he got all pissed at us and we eventually got him fired. At the end of the week the toast was still there. I think my friend may have a few pictures of our crazy waiter, i'll try and find them."

- "some of my fondest teenage memories were created in that denny's on Fry boulevard in sierra vista. me and my gal pal would sit in our corner booth and soak up that lovely denny's ambiance. we were all family there. it was the only place that any self-respecting person in town would be caught at in the wee (and some would say ungodly) hours of the morning. we didn't know what lured us there. was it that gleaming yellow and red sign? the sleepwalker special? the coffee? the fact that it was the only place open after midnite where we could loiter indefinitely? i think it was all of the above. we drank coffee, chain smoked, and gobbled down huge quanities of fried food. i moved away to go to college and be an "adult". it's been years since i frequented the fry blvd. denny's. i'm told that "our" denny's is no more. a symbol of my carefree youth and optimism is gone forever. apparently there was a fire...the details aren't clear. what's clear are my memories of those carefree times spent with jessica in "our" denny's, in our corner booth, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes.." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I just hated it that Sierra Vista, AZ's new Denny's was not listed. A new Denny's had to be build because of a fire in the older Denny's. It is on Fry Blvd. in Sierra Vista, AZ. - October 8, 2000 - "Highly recommended. Probably the best wait staff ever. Lucy also works in the DFAC on base there. I don't know when she sleeps. They make awesome shakes. Theire meat skillet is awesome. They have wonderful english muffins. An endless supply of coffee, root beer, water, and cream. They have some awesome cooks as well as food. This Denny's has really got their shit together. They are perfect for sneaking out after 'curfew' for the soldiers. They love accomadating massive crowds. This is also the popular dwelling of the "freaks" of Sierra Vista (poor little town). This is probably the best Denny's I've ever been too in my life! Remember to tip the waitresses good!! Oh yeah. They get very upset if you have peanut butter pie fights in their parking lot."

- June 12, 2001 - "I used to go to the one on Rural and the US-60 so I could smoke, 'cause ya can't smoke in Mesa. I'd always go there on acid and I always got friendly service. I stopped going there because one night my friend was drunk and being loud and when we were outside some old man sort of snarled at him and gave us dirty looks. When we got done eating, I went outside and my tire had been slashed. So, I reccomend this one, but get a booth by the window."

- September 17, 2003 - "That Denny's well, I'd like to review the food but, after waiting for a LONG time I walked out. I tried again another time (just stupid I guess) and got the same treatment. Later I was in the big Fry's Electronics that that Denny's shares the same block with and got talking with a Black guy who was obviously an engineer or something, and he said he thought he got bad treatment in there because he's Black. I said I'd gotten the same treatment, I'd guessed because I'm white. (The employees etc are all hispanic in there it seems.) So, we decided they're equal-opportunity racists. Frankly I think they may have gotten so many crabby people coming out of Fry's they could have given up on everyone."

- "P7A77, hanging out with you for long periods of time has obviously made me a bit loopy, loopy in the Denny's sense anyway. Everytime I pass a Denny's I feel what could almost be classified as an urge to go in, yet for the most part I manage to 'stay strong.' However, upon moving to Tucson, AZ a couple of weeks ago, my will was weakened, and a friend and I ventured into a Denny's near my place. IT WAS THE MOST FABULOUS EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Ok, so maybe I am exaggerating a tiny bit, but it truly was enjoyable. Our waitress, Kathi M. was the best Denny's waitress of all time, this is the truth. She not only found ways to make our meals cheaper, but she also refilled our drinks several times, and helped me find the location of a good second-hand furniture store. This even involved calling her friend from work to find out the exact address. So, that's my Denny's experience, if you are ever in Tucson, be sure to check this one out! It is a winner." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I would like to say that my husband and I live in Tucson. I do not recommend the Denny,s on Orange Grove and Oracle. We are a young couple in our thirties, and we used to enjoy eating there on Sunday,s with our daughter, and just reading the paper. Well my husband being in a wheelchair for some reason caused the waitress to place us way in the back next to the bathrooms. I then asked in a nice manner could we sit in abooth towards the front next to a window. This seemed to bother her to the point of her becoming down right nasty. We received dirty flatware , slow sevice, wrong and much to long a wait on refills of beverages. She spoke in a nasty tone as if we were interrupting her from some vauluable conversations from her regular customers,of which we were not. Needless to say we did leave a proper tip but have and will never return again. In light of the probelm the other Denny,s in town are marvelous." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Tucson AZ Speedway Dennys Story - I moved to Tucson from Westerville Ohio when I came out to school here - the night before I left I had a sedate and depressed meal at my hometown Dennys with my friends. I then hopped on a plane and came out here to Tucson, met a bunch of people, and we all decided to go to Dennys.
I still wasn't too sure about this 'big move' I was making and I was still suffering some cultural vertigo. While we were sitting there, though, one of the waitresses *completely flipped her shit*. She starts screaming, yelling, etc. Much to our enjoyment she picked up five or six plates and THREW them, frisbee-like, through the little window into the kitchen and sent the cooks diving for cover.
It was like Beruit, there was so much chaos. Stuff was flying everywhere and the customers were going _nuts_. I decided then and there that I was going to like Tucson. I've had an awesome time ever since." - written prior to September, 1999

- "Greetings Newly-weds! Just wanted to let you know that on Monday after we checked out of the Inn Suites Hotel, Gil and I walked over to Dennys to enjoy a meal in your honor. Service was less than pleasant--our scowling waitress gave us an extra bill for 2 chicken fried steaks and coffee and was very reluctant to make me a chocolate root beer float ("we don't really do that here, but I guess I'll make one for you"). But, to Denny's credit, Chicken sammich and Gardenburger for Gil and myself respectively hit the ol' spot. And then, of course, there was the country-music-one-man-cover-band that made a very realistic train-whistle sound that frightened our sour waitress..." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I've lived in Tucson since 1951 and, of course, have been to several Denny's here. My favorite is the one at St. Mary's Road and I-10. We used to go there after a meeting every week and get the prime rib special -- what an epicurean bargain (or "gonga," as we say near the border)! The waitress got to know us really well and was always disappointed when there weren't very many of us, but always took care of special orders. Being near the center of town and the freeway, there can sometimes be some hoboes floating around, but the management seems to have taken care of the problem pretty well." - written prior to September, 1999

- "I was reading about the local Denny's and your opinions of them, and I noticed that you seemed to really like the one on Speedway. That's the one we all go to. We usually go at about 4am on the weekends, being as that's when the local club gets out. In any case, I was mostly writing to ask if you had moved to Tucson yet, since your review of our Denny's seemed to indicate that you were moving here. If so, I would very much like to meet you. You sound like a lot of fun!" - written prior to September, 1999

- "Classic Diner, 1510 W Valencia Rd, Tucson, Arizona - Food was good. Diner concept is a disaster. No carpet, a metal ceiling, plastic hollow walls, produced so much noise that the wait staff were all screaming at one another and the cooks. No spoons, so manager was busing dishes. No cream for coffee--ultrapastuerized non dairy "creamers" were held hostage in the freezer. A real diner would have napkins? Intense green light on entry walk made faces look sickly--not very appetizing. Instructions taped onto stainless steel walls. Worth a short trip to check it out if you haven't seen a Denny's Classic Diner. Depressing if you have been a Denny's customer for the last 40 years." - written prior to September, 1999

- November 3, 1999 - "Well, as I read policy. I think it is not fair to the customer...however...for along time, we love denny's food. Until last night, thing seem not right where we eat last night. I wonder why. We did ask for the T-Bone Steak. They say dont have...kind make me hard to believe...becuase where I go there is not popular area...make me hard to believe. Also some of bread look rotten. That happen in Tucson, Az. Located on Speedway...address I think is 3655 E, Speedway. If you dont do anything, then I will mentioned to the business bearu center and label. We really dont want to mentioned but want to see Denny serve really good. As I say...for long time...denny is really good restrurant. Thank you."

- November 14, 1999 - "Recently our office went out to celebrate the birthday of one of our beloved co-workers. AS is the custom in our office the person celebratin gtheir birthday chooses the establishment where we are to eat. This time, Denny's was chosen.
We had a rare sighting at our meal. Yes, that's right, we actually dined with the one and only P7A77! Of course he was the one who selected the joint so you shouldn't be so surprised. It was interesting to note that the usually talkative birthday boy became rather quiet for most of the meal, almost as if he preferred to observe than participate. Of course, he was under much scrutiny for the selection of restaurants - and rightly so.
Being a larger party, the staff (all two of them) prepared the banquet room for us. This kept us away from the standard guests and provided us with a healthy dose of leftover smoke. Ths room was rather spooky with stains on the floor, walls and ceiling and no windows for natural light. Apparently this room is rented out by local organizations to hold dinner meetings. ALthough ample for this purpose, this was no hotel banquet room. On with the review.
The service was adequate considering the amount of staff. Almost everyone had burgers with the exception of the legendary P7A77 who had a skillet and another who had pancakes. Everything tasted ok and all left the restaurant in good spirits, happy to be alive.
So there you have it, the review of the Denny's at Speedway and Dodge in Tucson, AZ with none other than P7A77. What an honor."

- October 8, 2000 - "Speedway Denny's. Don't go there either. Why not? 2 friends and I went one night while hanging out in Tucson. Probably about 3 in the morning. It took 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. We couldn't get cream to save our lives. They had no honey mustard. But, I only found that out after requesting it 5 different times. They were going to make some more but an hour and a half later, they had forgotten to do it. The food was pretty nasty might I add. Erf."

- "I recently had the non-pleasure of visiting the Denny's in Williams, Arizona. I was traveling to the Grand Canyon with my In-Laws and I kept telling them how wonderful Denny's restauraunts were. They had to hear me ranting and raving about the French Slam Breakfast for six hours in the car, unfortunately once we got seated and took a look at the prices I had a heart attack. I thought all prices were the same at every Denny's, isn't that supposed to be sacred? I have always paid $2.99 for a French Slam and I just diddn't have the funds to pay $4.99! While in Williams, AZ we saw a helluva big hole, the one left in my wallet." - written prior to September, 1999
