Australia

" We don't have Denny's in Australia any more. They got bought out by Canadian chain The Keg a couple of years ago. I'm really annoyed, I liked Denny's better." - written prior to September, 1999

"In the 80's Denny's used to have several restaurants in Australia, but there don't seem to be any left now. I once went to one of them in Melbourne, and it was OK. But reading all the complaints about poor service reminded me of a comedy show called "Fast Forward" that used to run on Australian TV. They had a sketch where a Denny's waitress keeps bringing the wrong things. The punchline: "Denny's - We're Never Close!"." - written prior to September, 1999

June 7, 2002 - "G'day, No need to travel down under to eat at Denny's. They failed miserably here, a shame really but they persisted in using repulsive mercury vapour lighting which made the food look gangrenous. They came, they saw, they went broke!"

"Just so you know, after returning from Perth, Western Australia, I must sadly report that there are no Denny's there. To make it worse there are no Shari's, no lost and forgotten Wag's, nor even an IHOP, (making them look not-quite-so-international to me).
To make matters worse, there isn't even a Taco Bell on the continent. I have heard rumours of a Denny's in Sydney, but, alas, I never had a chance to get there being on the other side of the continent and not having an afordable way to cross thousands of kilometres of Nullarbor.
If Denny's ever recognises the importance of your project, you may want to suggest they expend their operations (or create some) in Australia. They need one or two in all of the following cities: Brisbane, Melbourne, Port Arthur, Hobart, Canberra, Perth, Albany, Port Hedland, Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney (If they don't have one and more if they do), Alice Springs (so there's one on the way across the Nullarbor), and, of course and very importantly, the ever-famous cultural center of Oodnadatta, South Australia (even though Adelaide would presumably be covered, Ooodnadatta, with it's population of 350 if you count Wallabies and the more well-liked Emus and a very personable old holden that seems to have a personality of it's own) is the perfect location for an obscure, robably wierd Denny's.
See, there is an important feature of Western Civilization missing in Oz -- namely, that you can't get a bottomless cup of coffee. You pay $2.20 (AU) for a Long Black or a Long White, then you have to pay for another. This is not conducive to programming, philosophy, role-playing games, artwork, or world-domiation stratagies, all of which owe their existence to Denny's.
If you doubt this, consider that before Deny's were Cafe's, and it was in one of these that Adolph Hitler spent most of his waking hours, trying to sell bad paintings. Artwork and World Domination right there. If not for Denny's, /Pulp Fiction/ would have featured a take off of McDonalds or something (which, incidentally is the only place open 24 hours in Perth, and the only place with free refills on coffee, simply because no sane person or even a desperate aboriginal would ever drink much of that rubbish).
The only true first world country in the southern hemisphere NEEDS Denny's to suypport its nocturnal economy! Something MUST be DONE!
Then they can add the Taco Bells and start putting caffeine in their mountain dew and we 'Murkins cann start eating Vegemite smeared on Weet-Bix and together the two biggest Pommie-settled nations can quash the rest of the world beneath our heels from opposite sides of the globe and... Um, er... Uh. Wanna buy a bad painting? *kidding* *I'd never wear a little snot moustachio like that*
