- "IÊwas totally excited to see your website! I would not have found if my boyfriend had not asked me to go online and see what dennys had to offer in TN. we live in shelbyville in,and i am coaxing him to move south. see i'm from san jose and was practically born in a dennys.mom ,grandma, and aunts worked there. well we moved and then began my first job at IHOP.mom was mngr. well i moved away and went with shoneys for twelve years, then moved again and found myself a server at Dennys. not all servers at dennys are grouchy i had a great time working there, but they seemed to frown on mngrs and servers dating so i was promptly removed from the schedule! my honey is still mngr and i'm still looking for a job. oh well, so i have this idea we can go to TN. and i can go back to work at shoneys (they all closed here) and he can go mng store in TN somewhere close to ailing and aging parents. dickson or nashville would be good! i can't wait for john to see this when he gets home. he will love it! he is the most dedicated dennys employee or mngr i have ever met 15 yrs with the company and we think it's time he get his own store. he is like all dennys people unique, he is or was an elvis impersonater. he puts dennys before most everything! so lets rally around john and see if we can land him the dream of his own dennys to manage in TN. YOU GUYS ARE GREATÊ if you are ever in shelbyville indiana drop us a line. let us know what we can send you for your collection."

- "On your website, you have a Denny's in Cincinnati, OH located at Colerain Ave. That location has been closed for quite a few years now, and the old phone # is now my home #.Ê Please change the website, since apparently you get a lot of people using that number and calling my home at all hours of the night."

- "I've been a server at Denny's for two years now and there's been good and bad times. I started working there when I was sixteen years old. My store burnt down due to an electrical fire after a terrible hurricane (Ivan). I had to transfer to another store on the other side of town. I was upset that my 5 min. drive to work had progressed into a 30 min drive. I lost a lot of regular customers because they didn't want to take the long drive. They finally tore down the store with the huge hole right in the middle of it, It took them almost a year. Now I'm just about the only person left from the burnt down store that's going back. At leastÊI will have a brand new store close to my house to work at."

- "I am trying to set something straight with my girlfriend.Ê I spent a good bet of time in San Diego CA and worked in a Denny's for a short time as a Bartender.Ê She will not beleve me that the best place to eat in the morning will have a lounge. If you have ever been in a Denny's that had a lounge that served adult drinks will will you respond and tell us where."

- "In 1953, Harold Butler opened Danny's Donuts, a Lakewood, California, stand that served coffee and doughnuts 24 hours a day. The following year, the stand grew and its name was changed to Danny's Coffee Shops. Five years later, there were 20 shops in the chain, and the company changed its name to Denny's. Denny's locations serve breakfast, lunch and dinner choices 24 hours a day."

- "Greetings, I have frequented various Denny's restaurants for about 40 years. If I had the time, I could probably write a book on my escapades with the Denny's waitresses. However, my most notable Denny's experience included a visit from Steve Young the quarter back of the San Francisco 49'ers.
Steve Young and three huge 49'ers entered the San Mateo Denny's at Norfolk St. and Hillsdale Blvd. on a Sunday night about 10:00 PM. The 49'ers had lost the game playing at Seattle earlier in the day. Steve Young and his companions took the large corner booth in the front of the restaurant. I was seated at the counter and noticed them because of the huge size of Steve Young's companions. I was an Oakland Raider's fan at the time and was not too excited with the presence of the 49'ers who had just lost at Seattle. However, the waitress, Annabelle, was extremely excited as she commenced waiting on Steve Young and his companions. She came to me at the counter and exclaimed "I can't believe that's its Steve Young."
Very few customers were aware that Steve Young was present. However, Annabelle was so excited that she went about the entire restaurant quietly informing the entire staff and most customers that Steve Young was present. Some customers approached Steve Young for autographs which he reluctantly provided. Most customers just made a curiosity trip to the restroom passing by the corner booth occupied by Steve Young. Later on some intoxicated customers heckled and harassed Steve Young and his companions regarding losing the game in Seattle. There was no noticeable response to the hecklers from Steve Young or his companions.
After completing their meals and spending considerable time talking, Steve Young and his companions left the corner booth for the check out at the cash register. Steve Young approached the cash register and screamed out "I want the manager!" The restaurant fell silent with the power of his outburst. While the manager was being sought, Steve Young loudly and publicly expressed his complaints about Annabelle, the waitress that had notified the staff and customers of Steve Young's presence. He repeatedly emphasized that Annabelle was "Stupid" and that the restaurant staff were "Unprofessional" and that the "Celebrity Policy was unacceptable". Once the manager arrived at the cash register, Steve Young, brow beat the manager and continued his loud public temper tantrum emphasizing "Stupid", "Unprofessional" and "Celebrity Policy".
The earlier hecklers responded with shouts of "Losers", "Go home" and "Get out of here!". This triggered a response from nearly half of the customers in the nearly full restaurant which was also expressed as "Losers", "Go home", "Get out of here!" and other inflammatory remarks. So Steve Young and his three companions left Denny's of San Mateo with nearly half of the customers shouting "Losers", "Go home" and "Get out of here!". This was an extraordinary event considering that this was the heart of 49'ers country. The Denny's waitress, Annabelle, was liked and loved by many Denny's customers as she was very funny and a very caring sociable person. The sight of Steve Young calling "noticeably pregnant" Annabelle, "Stupid" repeatedly did not set well with regular customers or strangers. Annabelle's uncontrollable tears further fueled the fire and the seeds of decency among the Denny's customers repelled the infamous Steve Young. The common reaction after Steve Young's departure was "Who would have ever guessed that he is such an asshole!". Some customers vowed to give up being 49'er fans!
Annabelle has left Denny's and she is now a waitress in a reputable dinner house. Steve Young has left the 49'ers and he does Toyota commercials. I am still at the counter in Denny's awaiting the next new hire that desires romantic guidance."

- "My name is Drew, I'm planning a Denny's trip across Vancouver island, but I don't know where they all are. The Denny's web site isn't much help. Do you know of a map or something, a web site link that could tell me that."

- "First off, I want to say that I love your website. The project is admirable and I'm glad to see you are succeeding. I have a question for you, and I'm not sure if you will know the answer but I figured it is worth a try asking. I'm on a mission of my own. I'm trying to visit all of my favorite first reastaurants: http://restaurantfirsts.com/ (the site needs a lot of work, but it's still basically just a list for my own purposes to document my research and visits) and of course Denny's is on the list. I've read over and over that it was started in Lakewood, California, but I have yet to find an address. Do you have any clue where the first one was and if that building is still a Denny's? I suspect it's no longer in the same building, but there is always a chance."

- "I have a request, a bit irregular, I'm sure. I'm a regular Denny's customer, and have been for years in 3 states. CA, AZ and FL. I remember when a customer got a free dinner on his birthday, and when the commercials were about Lenny's, I mean Denny's. Here in Oxnard,Ca there is a privately owned restaurant that was originally, a Denny's restaurant. It was built in the late 50s or 60s. The classic years. It has changed hands several times since then. I'm trying to put together a little history on it. If you have any statistics on it and especially, pictures, would you please send them to me. I would really appreciate it.
The Denny's address was; 1060 So Oxnard Blvd, Oxnard, Ca. 93030 ( not to be confused with Denny's on NO. Oxnard Blvd.)"
