- "DennyÕs is the perfect place for an insomniac. But I wanted to change the image of the dennyÕs waitress from a bitter old hag to well me. I served at the oÕfallon Illinois dennyÕs. working the 8pm-4am shift. Our dennyÕs was in true rat form. We had the multitude of visitors, including the regular pack of kids in all black playing Egyptian rat screw and chugging pots of coffee, to the local drunks ordering their usuals. It was the single most fun IÕve ever had at a job. And IÕm still trying to keep the tradition alive"

my friend & i were Êinvolved withÊthe Denny's lawsuit over non-service to minorityÊdinersÊ. . . i helped eat "undercover" working for the Office of the Civil Rights Monitor (Dept. of Justice) to help the court determine whether or not they were in compliance with the "sensitivity training" of their supposed Êracist employees . . . my friend and i ate at over 150 Denny's in the south & southwest USA and then logged our eating experiences . . . do we get an honorable mention in your Denny's pages?

- "Dear Sir: I stumbled upon your website and really enjoyed it, as I too, love Denny's. So much, in fact, that I am searching for a Denny's mug far and wide for my husband for Christmas. The mug I am searching for is not the current model and was wondering if you might be able to help me. It is shaped somewhat like an hourglass and has Denny's printed on it. It's not too old, probably within the past 5-8 years or so. I have searched the net, eBay, called Denny's Customer Service, who sent me to their distributor, who said they didn't know what I was talking about and didn't have a mug like this. I know I'm not crazy and making this up, so I'm hoping you'll be able to sympathize with my plight ( I distinctly remember being put out when they changed the mugs.) If you know of any websites or even have a mug I could purchase, that would be great. Thank you so much for your time and have a great holiday."

- "Do you know there are actually two denny's on Mathilda, the one kind of on the main part and one near the 101? Maybe that one on the 101 counts as being on another road. I've been going to the one on the main part of Mathilda a lot because I just moved here. So far I like sunnyvale (and my saturn which I just got) a lot, it's so geek-friendly I think I'll spend the rest of my life here. I didn't know monkey bowls are supposed to be called salad bowls. That's funny!! I'm going to try to add the term "monkey bowls" into my conversations with denny's waitresses/waitors here and there and see what happens. I think the Grand Slam would be perfect if it had tortillas instead of those stupid pancakes."

- "congrats beautiful page, but as a former denny's waitress, 1. when are you coming to Florida? 2. be careful eating all that denny's food, you could get sick (trust me, i lived on it for a year, that and checkers and mac&cheese) anyway have fun on your quest, when you come to Orlando, the denny's on west colonial drive is a dangerous one~ consider yourself warned!!"

- "I have been a dennys waitress off and on for over 13 yrs. what are the odds of ending up working for the same manger that you started with many moons ago. well ne ways i loved it then i love it now. i started at dennys to support myself and my 2 year old daughter while my husband was in carcerated. i was allowed to work in houston and transfer to ga. where he ended up for the next 2 and a half years.i was greatful for the job and the wonderful experiances i gained thru out the years and the awsome loyalty of my customers . here in houston and in ga. i am not able to work at present but i still enjoy popping in from time to time just to get that hug from my co workers or that customer that still pledges undying love for you!!!!! cause no one serves them like you. my daughter who was 2 when i started now 15 has also started at dennys as a hostess 2 days aweek loves it as i do.shes a natural as she grew up in the boothes. she knows all the in and outs of being a successful dennys employee.i just really think people dont realize the woderful impact dennys has had across the world for single moms and dads . the tips are awsome as long as your doing your job. i have amillon stories and would love to share them any time i love this site!!!!!!"

- "Hello, I recently bought the entire contents of a Denny's that closed in Medford Oregon. I have in my possession all the Booths, Kitchen Equipment, Signs, Lights, Fans, Stained Glass Booth Dividers, and everything else you would find in a typical Denny's. I purchased all this at a state auction and plan on selling it off in pieces. Some of the stuff is on EBay under Hobbs107 as seller, but I just started putting the items on, and it will take about a week to list everything. If you know anybody that might want certain Items have them email me hattemer@aol.com or if you could atleast let people know about the ebay auction."

- "As a "Denny's Crew" member (big corner booth in smoking)Êin Sierra Vista, AZ, and then a part of a different, but just as awesome "Denny's Crew" at the Speedway Denny's location (always under the broken ceiling light in smoking),Ê I must say this site is AWESOME. I have been a "Denny's Crew" member for several years. Four years in Sierra Vista, AZ (Fry Blvd. Location); Two years in Tucson, AZ (Speedway Location), with random frequent visits to the Broadway/Wilmot location and Oracle/River location. This site was a pleasant surprise for a Denny's veteran such as myself. I currently work at the Oracle/River location and I brag about this site to all of my coworkers.Ê It's very cool to hear about other Denny's around the U.S. and to see howÊyou get a fluctuation of service and attitudes. It's cool to see what Denny's is like almost everywhere. May Denny's only improve as time goes on...I really wish they still had the ham and turkey salad...it was sooooo good...let us pray for it's return. *wink*"

I also would like to tell you that we are looking for eccentric people with interesting hobbies(?) for a project a marketing company is undertaking. I am the General Manager for Denny's 407 in Hickory Hills, IL , and was just browsing the web when i found your site. I am getting a kick out of the reviews for some of the stores. Keep up the great work--if you are still touring restaurants. We are trying to improve the hospitality for ALL Denny's restaurants through out the world. Take care and have fun eating all the great Denny's food!!!"

- "Just wanted to say congrats on the awesome website.... you rock! I am a Denny's fan, though I don't get there as often as I'd like to anymore (the whole poor college student thing). My best times at Denny's were after musicals in high school. We'd all hit up Denny's after our final dress rehearsal, and after the final performance. Fifteen to thirty high school kids would walk in at one or two in the morning on a school night, usually wearing scary makeup, and occasionally in wierd costumes, and no one would blink an eye. One time, after Guys and Dolls, we all went wearing our stripper outfits from the "Take Back Your Mink" number, and a couple of us proceeded to sing the song, and strip off the gowns in the middle of the place. A couple of the other patrons clapped politely, one shouted at us to "shut the hell up" but the wait staff ignored us. It was a rockin' good time. Keep up the good work!"

- "OMG Man!, this is soooo awesome. I have recently become a Denny's fanatic myself, and my friend and I joked about trying to go to all the Denny's but never thought anybody out there was like us! I also collect Denny's memorabilia. So far I have a menu, some silverware, a plate, a cup, and a few other knick knacks....but my pride and joy are the sign that i took from a Denny's front lawn, and the 35 Denny's coffee mugs that im collecting...and that number is growing quickly! If you are ever in the chicagoland area me and my friend eddie would love it if you ate at a dennys with us!"

- "Hello. I visited your site today, and I would like to know why you like Denny's so much. Sorry if this sounds rude, it isnt meant to be; I don't want to be one of those jerks who leaves piontless rude messages, but I just don't get it. Why Denny's? The Denny's I've been to (New England mostly though I do travel too much) were not particularly special- I am a vegan and Denny's doesnt have much of a selection for me."

- "hahahh great site ... i enjoyed it! By the way, my last memory of a Dennys was on , unfortunately, September 11, 2001 on a road trip on the way to Colorado. Just had finished an over night camp out in Palo Duro Canyon in Amarillo, Texas when that morning our nation came under attack. We went to a Dennys to have some coffee and breakfast and I found it very odd that they were playing Frank Sinatra tunes rather than tuning into the news..... anyway, we emended up listening toÊthe news in our car for the majority of the trip."

- "I came by your Web site on a long google trek to find a "Macon Whoopie" shirt, only to see a great site and find fans of Wally Pleasant! I thought he was so off the radar! I have the shirt with the Boy's Life comic on it, and one of my best college memories is playing "Wally Pleasant Super Ping Pong" across the whole second floor of our student activities building (involves a ping pong ball and lots of running around). and if I remember right, Wally's the one (we had a lot of acts go through Winthrop) that was going to help us steal the Denny's sign from the closed Denny's (they just dumped it by their dumpster and it would have looked perfect in front of the Winthrop sign!). In any case, we couldn't find a truck to haul it in, but we paid cash for lots of his CDs so he could have gas money :-) Anyway, I know you don't give a crap about any of this, but I was very excited about finding another Wally Pleasant/Denny's connection. Great site!"

- "Mr. P7a77,
My name is Damion, and my Denny's is in Louisville, Kentucky. It is home to a movement known as the Dennyzen Liberation Front.
As you have witnessed with the WAY phenomenon, there is a another, less subtle trend that can be found in Denny's from Schiller Park, ILL to Salem Oregon. Denny's has become a subculture hangout for the disenfranchised (( pardon the pun )), a trend that can be traced to the Generation Xers and their (( our )) need for coffee well after the "trendy shops" had closed. Hot java, cool chat, and a place that can be called hell to some and home to others.
Or, atleast that is what my friends and i have encountered.
On one of our many forays into the Inter-Ether, we discovered a group of likeminded people in California who called themselves Dennyzens. The name fit us like a ham fit in Orson Wells mouth...i.e.; perfectly.
After a brief 'interlude" with a now-fired-and-banned manager, our Dennyzen status was in dire straits. Thus the D.L.F. was formed to help those who made Denny's a second home. In our chapter (( the first of many I hope )) we have an open dialog with the managment and the servers, we buss tables when they are busy, and we have acted as bouncers many a night when the bar crowds got too roughty. We love our Denny's, and wouldn't trade it for the world. We have transcended mere regular status and truly become "Dennyzen".
I just wanted to say how great it is to find like minded people in the world."

A great philosophical question presented itself: why do the fruit rise to the top of my raisin bran, yet sink to the bottom of my yogurt? How do it know?"

- "I have totally lost interest in Denny's. They have poor food. And the worst service I have ever seen. They allow kids to come in and smoke for hours. When adults that smoke want to come in and eat and smoke. There should be a smoking section at all time and an age limit is appropriate."
